We are exploring direction on our bikes outdoors.
We are learning how to program Bee Bot to travel in a given direction.
We scattered wild flower seeds to help our bees thrive in Monkton. We hope they grow well to provide delicious nectar for the bees. Additionally we are learning about what plants need to grow so that we can nurture our flowers.
We visited Scolton Manor Woodlands searching for bear dens or nests. We discovered many signs of Spring, The Pembrokshire Bee Keeping Centre, fabulous wood carvings depicting stories from Welsh culture and a sturdy bear den made of sticks. Following a delicious picnic in the fresh air, we enjoyed a wonderful play on the woodland play park. Then we explored some more and found a full set of woodland musical instruments. A great time was had by all. We were all so well behaved.
We visited St. David's Cathedral and learnt so much about St. David, his life and what he achieved. We were really amazed at the beauty and the size of the Cathedral. We particularly enjoyed seeing the patterns, mosaics, stained glass windows and the Ghostly King. We even found the story of Noah's Ark in a stained glass window! We lit a candle and said a prayer of thanks.
We explored symmetrical shapes and then we thought about how to make a symmetrical Easter egg card that would rock gently like a real egg.
We had lots of fun when we made honey sandwiches . We asked for the items in Welsh.
We have made some excellent Welsh castles at home to celebrate St. David's Day!

We have been using our thinking skills to sort animals into their habitats. We worked as a group and discussed our reasons and choices.
This week we have been celebrating the Chinese New Year. Kung Hey Fat Choi!!!
We learnt all about Chinese customs and food. We also set up a Chinese restaurant where we explored different roles and used money and chopsticks freely. Additionally we researched playground games that Chinese children play in their outdoor areas. In the photographs we are playing 'Catch the Dragon's Tail' and 'Cat and Mouse'. We enjoyed both very much. Finally we visited The Carvery Restaurant for a truly Chinese meal. Sammy told us amazing Chinese stories. We love making and performing Chinese dragon dances.
