9th March 2021
Dear Parent/Carer
It has been confirmed by Kirsty Williams, Minister for Education, that from Monday 15th March 2021 all primary school children will be back in school, signalling a greater return to normality for more learners. This has been decided as the Public Health situation across Wales has continued to improve, however we must continue to follow the Welsh Government guidance.
We are all very much looking forward to seeing all the children return to school from 15th March. On behalf of the staff and Governing Body I would like to thank you all for your support and understanding during this period.
School Site Protocols for Adults
One of the greatest concerns regarding children returning to school is the community transmission of the virus. We would therefore ask that the points below are followed:
School Start Times and Entrance / Exit points
We would ask that pupils enter school no earlier than ten minutes before the opening time for their class, so that it reduces the chance that pupils will mix and cross bubbles.
Nursery and Flying Start pupils to attend mornings, afternoons and full time as previously stated.
Nursery and Flying Start to enter/ exit via the gate on the Nursery playground
Infant based classes 9.15am to 3.30pm
Yellow Class to enter/exit via white door at the front of the school or through white door on playground
Red Class and Blue Class to enter/exit through the red door at the front of the school or glass door at the side of the Infant playground.
LRC 1 to enter/ exit as agreed with Miss Marchant.
Start times for Junior based classes 9.05am to 3.30pm
Year 3 to enter/exit via classroom door on Junior playground using pathway in front of school.
Year 4 to enter/exit via classroom door at rear of the school using pathway in front of school.
Year 5 to enter/exit via classroom door using pathway to Infant department.
Year 6 to enter/exit via classroom door on Junior playground using pathway to Infant department.
Class 7 to enter/exit via classroom door on Junior playground.
Breakfast Club
We will be continuing to offer breakfast club in the FP Hall, with a start time of 8.10am serving breakfast up until 8.55am.
Children who attend this club will remain in their bubbles as far as possible. Please could you support us in this matter and remind your children of the importance of staying in their class bubbles whilst in the Hall.
Please note that at the present time Breakfast Club is only for children of Critical Workers and vulnerable children. This is subject to change, and we will keep you updated.
Dinnertimes
In order to maintain bubbles, and the health and safety of staff and pupils, Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 pupils will be having their lunch slightly earlier than normal with first sitting at 11.45am to last sitting at 12.30pm
(ALL TIMINGS WITH REGARD TO SCHOOL TIMES ETC. WILL BE REVIEWED BEFORE THE EASTER HOLIDAY AND MAY CHANGE.)
Children may wear PE kits to school on their allocated PE day.
Please ensure your child has a full water bottle sufficient for the day.
Thank you once again for your support, patience and understanding through these difficult times. We are delighted to be having all of the pupils back on the 15th March and are looking forward to a busy, fun filled return to learning.
Any further information please contact the school.
Regards
Mr Dylan Lawrence
