Class 1M

Welcome to Class 1M!

We enjoyed our trip to Folly Farm. We saw lot's of different animals and enjoyed playing in the sand and on the outdoor pirate ship😀

Our topic this week is Penguins. We have been researching all about Penguins using the Internet. We have made Penguins using recycled materials. We really enjoyed doing this😀

The class teacher is Miss Maddocks and the class Learning Assistants are Mr Scourfield and Miss Jones.

This term we have been learning about Ourselves and how we can keep ourselves fit and healthy. We have looked at Healthy and Non Healthy foods - we visited Mencap Gardens as part of our Knowledge and Understanding where we observed and identified a variety of fruits and vegetables.

We are learning how to cross the road safely. We have Kerb Craft sessions every week.

Hands on Literacy activities. We really enjoyed learning our sounds this way😀

Father Christmas came to visit Purple Class. He gave us presents and a Christmas letter. We were very lucky. Merry Christmas Everyone🎉

We had a firework safety talk

We visited Glanymor Farm in Pembroke to see all the different animals they have on their farm. We were allowed to feed the animals and learnt about all the different types of foods they have. We really enjoyed our visit and the staff were very helpful and we learnt alot😀

Our visit to Mencap Gardens.

Here we are using different materials to make our sounds in read write inc

Sheena took part in our visiting speakers assembly. Mrs Palmer told us a bible story about "sharing".

We did "addition" outside using Numicon. We recorded sums onto whiteboards and then independently made up our own addition sums using chalk on the ground. We used Numicon to help us find the answers.

We used Numicon in class to help us with our maths.

We had fun making Pumpkin Soup. We each had a turn at tasting it.

We went outside to do Read Write Inc. We used Fred Talk to sound out and we blended our sounds to learn new words. Then we recorded our set 1 sounds/words in chalk. We really enjoy learning our sounds outside😀

During our Hands on Literacy session we followed instructions from Mr Scourfield to make patterns using a variety of beads.
